North Codorus Township has a rich history dating back to 1832 when it was settled and then officially incorporated in 1838. The township covers an area of 32 square miles and is bordered by Jackson, West Manchester, York, Springfield, Codorus, and Heidelberg. Some of the notable historic places in the area include the Hanover Junction Railroad Station, Howard Tunnel, Northern Central Railway, and York Iron Company Mine, all listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The township is governed by the Board of Supervisors, who work to protect the land, resources, and history of this beautiful area. This site provides helpful information on governance, township services, resident resources, permitting, and zoning.

North Codorus Township will be updating our Comprehensive Plan this year and we are looking for 3 to 4 residents to serve on the review committee. NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of North Codorus Township at their regularly scheduled public meeting on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Office at 1986 Stoverstown Road, Spring Grove, PA 17362, will hold a public hearing, after which hearing and during which meeting also intends to consider for adoption “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE NORTH CODORUS TOWNSHIP, YORK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, ZONING ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE REGULATION OF DATA CENTERS.” Section 1 of the Ordinance adds a definition for “COMMUNITY NOISE EQUIVALENT LEVEL (CNEL)”; Section 2 of the Ordinance adds a definition for “DATA CENTER”; Section 3 of the Ordinance adds a definition for “DATA CENTER ACCESSORY USES”; Section 4 of the Ordinance adds a definition for “DATA CENTER EQUIPMENT”; Section 5 of the Ordinance adds a definition for “FOOTCANDLE”; Section 6 of the Ordinance adds a definition for “SENSITIVE RECEPTORS”; Section 7 of the Ordinance amends the definition for “WAREHOUSE”; Section 8 of the Ordinance adds Data Center to the table of allowed uses; Section 9 of the Ordinance establishes the standards for a Data Center as a special exception in the I District; Section 10 provides a repealer; Section 11 adds severability provisions; Section 12 makes the ordinance effective immediately after its approval as provided by law.
